How to proceed:

1. Alter the file config.sys by adding this entry:


set desktop=x:\Desktop

where X:\ is the partition your desktop is residing on.


2. Reboot.


3. Run the deskid.cmd file.

4. Reboot.

5. If you have your Desktop back, remove the Set Desktop= entry from the config.

6. If not, delete the file WP ROOT. SF in your X:\ partition:

        ATTRIB -a -r -s -h WP ROOT. SF
        del WP ROOT. SF

7. Redo 1 @ 5


8. If no success, too bad, it's reinstall time.
