To install the ES488 driver, the following steps must be taken: 1. The OS/2 Warp CD-ROM automatically installs the ES688 driver regardless of whether an ES688 or an ES488 is present. You must first remove the ES688 driver before you could install the ES488 driver. 2. From the System Setup group, run selective UNINSTALL and uninstall "Multimedia Support". After the uninstallation process, shutdown and restart OS/2. 3. From the System Setup group, use Selective Install and install Multimedia Support without selecting an audio device. In order not to install the old ES688 driver (included in CD-ROM), at the System Configuration screen, click on the Multimedia Device Support icon to bring up the Device Selections and Settings screen. In this screen, click on the "Remove" button to remove the ES688 driver from the OS/2 system. Click on OK to continue the Multimedia Support installation. At the end of the Multimedia Support installation, shutdown and restart OS/2. 4. Go to the Multimedia group and run the Multimedia Application Install program. Select the source drive, click on the ES488 driver icon, and click on the "Install" button to install the driver. Follow the interactive instructions on the screen to set the hardware settings of your sound card. Once the driver is loaded, shutdown and restart OS/2 for the ES488 driver to take effect. ===================================================== FILE LIST: ========= This diskette contains the folloing files. 1.
