This archive contains the OS/2 binaries for GNU Bash version 2.0.0-release.
This is the build 264 of bash (this number sequentialy increases with
each compile, I`ve left it as-is since it adequately indicates how many
changes were made since previous release). It`s still at beta stage, but its
already quite stable.

The binaries in this archive were comressed with /EXEPACK:2 method, so
they will run ONLY in OS/2 v3.0 and up. If you use OS/2 v2.x, you should
decompress them first (either using IBM REPACK.EXE program or the
freeware lxLite program).

For build instructions see the file "../diff/bash-2.0/HOW.TO.BUILD", but
better you get the source distribution archive which should be found in
the same place where you got the binary distribution.

The file "FEATURES" in this directory contains a description of features
not found in the original bash. Most of them were introduced to rise
compatibility with Unix sh scripts.

The file "INSTALLATION" in this directory contains installation
instructions for the binary distribution of bash/2.

See the file "NEWS" for what has changed since previous releases.

The file "BUGS" contain a list of all known bugs and limitations of
OS/2 port of bash.

There are three documentation files included:
 - bashref.INF -- contains documentation on bash itself
 - rlman.INF -- contains documentation on GNU readline library
                     that bash uses.
 - sh-utils.INF -- contains documentation on GNU shell utilites
                     included in this binary distribution.

To report bugs related to OS/2 port of bash, write to:

  Andrew Zabolotny <bit@freya.etu.ru>

Most of bugs you'll find are mea culpa and my shame. If you are *sure*
that bug you found is not related to OS/2 port (although you better contact
me first) you can use the script included in this directory called
"bashbug.sh". Note that it requires a editor which understands filenames
with forward-slashes in path (EPM doesn't) and a /tmp/ directory.

GNU bash is free software. See the file COPYING for copying conditions.
