This chapter describes the other methods you can use to install DB2 Universal Database products. Some of the advanced methods to install DB2 are detailed in this chapter. The DB2 Installer can perform all of the steps described in this section.
We recommend that you use the DB2 Installer when installing DB2, but if you prefer not to use the DB2 Installer, you can use any one of the methods described in this chapter. See Chapter 7. "Installing DB2 Connect on UNIX Systems" for information on how to use the DB2 Installer to install the DB2 product. See Chapter 26. "Installing DB2 Clients" for information on how to install the DB2 clients.
