Taking Screen Captures

An important feature provided by Windows 95 and Windows NT is the ability to take screen captures. If there is a window with information that you want to keep, do the following:

  1. Make the window the active window.

  2. Press down the following three keys at the same time: Ctrl-Alt-PrintScreen.

  3. Open the Paintbrush program.

  4. The screen capture is in the clipboard. Paste it into the Paintbrush program.

  5. Save the image to a file as a bitmap. You can then send this file to someone who can help you.
