The Feature Installer is "Year 2000" ready from version 1.2!

The Feature Installer plug-in requires Netscape Navigator or Communicator (from version 1.2.3) as a frontend.

The Convenience Packages already ship with the latest version of the FI.

The following products require Feature Installer for installation:

• TCP/IP 4.1 for OS/2 install package
• TCP/IP 4.3 for OS/2 install packages
• OS/2 Warp Server Backup/Restore Version 6.0
• Java for OS/2 install packages
• Java 2 for OS/2 install packages

Prior to starting the installation JavaScript has to be activated!

In contrast to the information in the readme file you do not need to uninstall FI, delete any objects and restart the system first. I successfully upgraded FI from version 1.1 to various 1.2.x versions just by copying the new files over the old ones and starting FISETUP with the appropriate parameters. If you use more than one Netscape browser, the plug-in of the first browser only (listed in the PATH environment variable) will be updated. You will have to copy NPFI.DLL manually to the appropiate directory of the second browser version. FISETUP will also handle the locked files (see fisetup.log for results). Prior to using the new plug-in you will have to restart the system then, of course.
