Step 2. Stopping All DB2 Instances

You must stop all DB2 Instances before you remove DB2 products. To stop DB2 Instances, you need to perform the following steps:

  1. Obtain a list of the names of all DB2 instances on your system using the following command:
       DB2DIR/bin/db2ilist
    

    where DB2DIR = /usr/lpp/db2_05_00 on AIX


    = /opt/IBMdb2/V5.0 on HP-UX or Solaris

  2. Stop the instance. See "Starting and Stopping a DB2 Server Instance" for information on how to stop a DB2 Instance.

  3. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each instance.
